Hello! It’s me (again).
I know, there were a lot of newsletters in the last couple of weeks - thank you for bearing with me. The Inkubator showcase was a huge success and I’m looking forward to our next showcase!
More on that another time though.
Because, today, I’m here with egg-ceptional news…
The Chicken Coop is BACK, baby!
That’s right, after a egg-cellent month with The Inkubator, we are returning to our regularly scheduled programming with The Chicken Coop Writing Group on May 28.
I’ve streamlined a few things behind the scenes and you can now get pay-what-you-can tickets on our shiny new Eventbrite. This should make the booking and payment process a whole lot easier!
We’ll be back at Lost in Leith Bar on Tuesday, May 28 from 6-8 pm with more weird and wonderful open-ended creative prompts to help you get words on paper (or screen).
For a look at previous creative prompts including shark love stories and intergalactic birds, check out our past newsletters which are available to free and paid subscribers.
Speaking of subscriptions…
Did you know…
We have a community server on Discord?
That’s right! The Good Egg Project server is a perk of our paid subscriptions, which start at £5.
Our community server allows you to connect with other writers, ask for advice and get feedback on your work. We also share open calls for publications and performances, development resources, prompts, and writing inspiration.
You’ll also get access to event and course announcements ahead of everyone else! So, if you’ve got Chicken Coop fomo, a subscription could be for you!
Paid subscribers are eligible for access to our twice-monthly writing groups at Sketchy Beats Cafe on the first and third Monday of the month.
Subscriptions go towards supporting my work with The Good Egg Project to bring more writing groups, courses, and specialist workshops to our community.
Now that bit’s out of the way, let’s take a look at what’s happening in our community this month…

Do you have an event coming up soon?
Are you hosting an open mic or scratch night? Is there a play or show you can’t recommend enough? Do you have a publication or book launch?
Whatever your event is, we want to know! I want to support your work and make sure our writers know what’s possible on the page, the stage, the screen and through their headphones!
Share your event details with us via this form to be featured in our next community events notice!
I’ll be featuring community events once a month for now, so make sure you submit your stuff before the last week of the month.
Thank you for reading!
I am so excited to be back at Lost in Leith for the Chicken Coop in two weeks. I loved The Inkubator and I’m proud of what we all achieved together and individually.
It’s been a great month, but I’m also ready to see where this crazy wee project goes next!
I’m really looking forward to hearing about your journeys through Escapril and National Poetry Writing Month.
Bring your notebooks, phones, laptops and other writing tools along for some of our signature playtime with words!
See you soon and take care,
Naomi x
P.s. If you know anyone who’d like to join our curious, passionate and playful community, please share our newsletter with them or tell them about the Coop!
