Hi, everyone!
I hope April has been kind to you all. Have you been writing furiously through National Poetry Writing Month or meandering along with Escapril?
If the answer is yes and you’d like to get some feedback for your fave piece, please feel free to submit your work here.
I will do my best to get back to you before our next Chicken Coop session on Tuesday, May 28 from 6-8 pm at Lost in Leith Bar and Fermentaria.

Sign ups are opening soon, so keep your eyes peeled! As always, drop ins are welcome, but bookings are better.
I’ve also listed dates for June and July, we’ll be taking a hiatus in August because the festival will be in full swing.
But, before we get back to the Coop in a few weeks, most of you’ll know that I’ve been running our first-ever writing course, The Inkubator, through April. It’s been an excellent four weeks so far, filled with lots of writing, some editing, and soon some set crafting!
Which brings me to…
The Inkubator Showcase
To end the course, we’re having a (chicken) scratch night to share our work from The Inkubator.
I’d like to invite you to join us on Tuesday, May 7 at Lost in Leith for The Inkubator Showcase to see a bunch of new writing, have some laughs, and to support our writers.
Featuring writing from local writers (and Chicken Coop members), we’re showcasing work by James Stedman, Samuel Mills, Rach Davies, Florrie Evans, Jossie Ellis, Joanna Helms and James Flowerdew with more to be confirmed soon.
Doors are at 7 pm and the showcase is running from 7.30-9.30 pm.
£3 early-bird tickets are now available on Eventbrite. Tickets on the day are £5.
Come along to support new writing and our growing community of writers.
Thank you for reading!
I’m so excited to see you next month for another playful writing session.
I’ll be popping out links for the next Chicken Coop soon! In the meantime, I hope to see you at the showcase in a couple of weeks on May 7.
If you have any questions or ideas in the meantime, please do fill out the feedback form here as I want to make sure the group is meeting our needs and wants!
Have a great weekend and I hope your NaPoWriMo finishes strong!
Take care,
Naomi x
P.s. I’ll be performing at Hame-ish #11 on Sunday, if you’d like to see me perform! It would be lovely to see you there.
