The Inkubator Showcase is next week!
Come support our chicken scratch night for new writing, plus the Coop is back
Hi everyone!
The Inkubator wrapped up this week and we’re all looking forward to our showcase of new writing next Tuesday, May 7 at Lost in Leith Bar and Fermentaria.
We’d love to see you there and support our growing community of writers. They’ve been working so hard and have created some egg-cellent pieces that I’m sure you’ll enjoy.
Early-bird tickets are still available here. Please come along and support The Inkbuator writers and get a taste of what future Chicken Coop showcases will look like.
Meet The Inkubator Showcase writers
I’d like to take a moment to introduce some of our featured writers ahead of our showcase next week!
It is my pleasure to introduce Rach Davies, Sam Mills, Jossie Ellis and Joanna Helms.
Rach Davies (she/her) is a writer and journalist based in Edinburgh. By day, she writes about LEGO, the rest of the time she writes about fantasy, feelings, and feminism. Her work has been published in national and international publications and magazines.
Sam Mills (he/him) is a poet and writer living in Edinburgh. Among other things they have been an archaeologist, their work explores the relationship between ourselves and the natural and human landscapes around us.
Jossie Ellis (she/her) is a Market Gardener based in Edinburgh growing food at Lauriston Farm. She writes about food, growing and the more than human others.
Joanna Helms (they/them) lives in Edinburgh. Born in the US and previously a musician and educator, they now work as an educational editor. When not agonizing over other people’s words, they like to write their own. Their poems have appeared in magazines and in collections from Soor Ploom Press and Rymour Books.
Please come along and support our new writers, I’ll be sharing more about our line-up later this week!
The Chicken Coop Writing Group is back in May!
That’s right, after a hiatus for our first-ever course, we’re back on Tuesday, May 28 for The Chicken Coop from 6-8 pm at Lost in Leith.
I’m really looking forward to the return of the Coop this month and I can’t wait to get back in the rhythm of silly writing tasks and your brilliant creative interpretation of our prompts.
Until sign-ups are open, you can…
